About the Artist
Joan Bowers’ (Seattle) work as a fine art photographer involves the use of black and white film and traditional dark room processes, especially lith printing. She has used this process for a number of years and continues to learn the many surprising and unusual effects as well as enhancements of her images that are possible. She previously worked on a series of land and waterscapes she calls Nearing the Water. They are pictorial in style and display Joan’s dedication to portraying the many manifestations of quiet beauty that abound in our natural environment.
She was recently accepted for membership in Gallery North, an artists' cooperative in Edmonds.
