About the Artist
Junko Yamamoto (Seattle) recieved a BFA from Cornish College of the Arts with honors and worked with a theatrical orchestra band called the “Degenerate Art Ensemble." She was part of a collaborative exhibition in Osaka, Japan with an absorbing-rock-ambient band called “Soft” from Kyoto and was in a solo exhibition of a music show and video installation at Frank Lloyd Wright’s Westcott Foundation in Springfield Ohio.
Junko received 2015 GAP funding for the printing of her images onto large-scale fabric and to support her as she moves into different kinds of installation and mixed media work in the future. The funding will provide the ability to make 3 different separate pieces, each 8’ x 8’ square with test prints. This opportunity will help keep Junko exploring and experimenting with mediums.
