About the Artist
James Audubon and Robert Bateman influence my work, which is mostly built around the natural world. I want to bring a smile to your face and/or a sense of wonder about the complexities of life. Whether painting in an ultra-realistic technique called trompe l’oeil, (which means “fool the eye”) or working in mixed media, it is difficult to catch all the subtle textures of the story I’m trying to tell at first glance. My work is meant to inspire people to look closer, than look within and respond outwardly by embracing the beauty around them and valuing it.
