About the Artist
Karen Leonard (Shoreline) has lived all over the country and taken many art classes offered at local art museums, art institutes, private studios, community colleges, and four-year colleges. She has studied watercolors, ceramics, printmaking, acrylics, oils, collage, graphic design, computer illustration and layout, photography, digital photo restoration, and interior design. Her current work involves using dye to paint on silk fabric using watercolor techniques. She began this work in spring 2012, and has discovered that painting on silk pulls together her experience with all these mediums to create a vivid, luminous work of art.
