About the Artist
Mary Ashton (Seattle) is a papermaker, printmaker, book and fiber artist. Her paper, books and textiles have been in regional and national shows. She has studied and taught papermaking, bookbinding, fiber and specialty technique classes and workshops in England and the United States. Formally trained as a textile conservator, she has worked with museums, non-profit studios, school outreach and "at-risk" youth programs. Her most recent professional position was Master Papermaker for Pyramid Atlantic Center for Hand Papermaking, Printmaking, and Art of the Book, Silver Spring, MD, where she collaborated with other artists working in a variety of media.
