About the Artist
Sara Everett (Seattle) is a painter of portraits and calligraphic lines inspired by feathers, bones, branches, Arabic script, and Art Deco. Re-purposed wood is often featured in her work. The wood grain itself becomes an essential part of her paintings which she manipulates with stains and texture before sealing over and applying oils. By leaving much of the wood surface exposed she draws the viewer into the marriage between the graphic and the organic, realism and abstraction.
Sara completed a residency with the Vermont Studio Center and is currently represented by CORE Gallery in Pioneer Square.
