Throughout history, visual art and works of poetry and literature have been tied together to build on the power of both mediums to communicate. Art in a Poem seeks work that explores the intersection between visual arts and the written word.
This year, Studio103 is honored to collaborate with poet and writer, Ann Spiers, Vashon Island’s inaugural Poet Laureate. Anne has offered her poem, “Enso: Open, Closed,” from her most recent publication, “Wild Cucumber”. Ann’s work is deeply rooted in nature, making this a unique opportunity to create a visual response to her evocative poetry.
