SOLA, a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to supporting mature women visual artists across Washington State, is seeking a Deputy Director for a ¾ time contract. This individual will play a crucial role in managing SOLA’s public-facing materials online and for infrequent in-person events in the region. Individuals in the Seattle area are needed for bi-weekly in-person meetings, otherwise remote. Well-rounded experience with arts nonprofits is preferred, with excellent online communications, website management, and digital strategy a priority as these are key to the success of an online organization. The Deputy Director will work closely with SOLA’s Executive Director and Board leadership to manage daily operations, support development efforts, and further energize our community engagement.

Responsibilities

● Development & Fundraising: This role will work closely with the Executive Director on all strategic planning including fundraising, grant applications, donor communications, and event planning.
● Operations Management: Manage program timelines and organizational tasks supporting legal requirements and financial data for the board and finance team. Collect, input and compile data for planning, reporting and fundraising.
● Digital Communications: Take charge of SOLA’s website, social media presence, and email marketing to effectively communicate the organization’s mission and updates to a wider audience.
● Community Engagement: Play a key role in monthly online Community Calls and participate in art-related discussions that recognize SOLA Awardees and support public opportunities.
● Event Coordination: Manage logistics for infrequent events, including in-person fundraisers, and online programs and board meetings.
● Volunteer/Community Engagement: Support outreach and volunteer recruitment and coordination for community events.

Qualifications

● Strong background in nonprofits and online communications, with demonstrated success in public-facing roles.
● Experience in digital strategy, website management and social media is essential.
● Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks as a hybrid team player.
● Proficiency with online office and design tools such as Google Suite, financial software, databases, Canva, Adobe Suite, and all social media platforms including YouTube.
● Preferred: Existing knowledge and experience in the PNW and/or West Coast region’s Nonprofit Arts sector.

Compensation and Benefits

● Salary Range: $50,000–$54,000 per year, depending on experience (DOE).
● Work Schedule: Estimated at approximately 30 hours per week, with flexibility and remote work.
● Contract: This is a 3/4 time independent contractor position.
● Healthcare Reimbursement: $250 per month for healthcare reimbursement.
● Professional Development: Access to stipends for relevant training/support
