The Material Works Art Award supports artists through a one-time $2500.00 grant in exchange for an original artwork that will join our growing contemporary art collection. This award recognizes artistic excellence and aims to promote career advancement through increasing visibility and exposure.

We are currently accepting applications from artists with contemporary art practices. Visual artists working worldwide in painting, photography, installation, sculpture, drawing, printmaking, mixed-media, experimental, and conceptual art are eligible to apply. Please note that submissions for music, writing/poetry, and time-based media are not being accepted at this time.

Early submissions will be considered for social media features and other highlights!

Award Breakdown:

Winner:
The award grants (1) selected artist $2500.00 based on the merit of their submitted portfolio
The award is exchanged for an original artwork ( one of similar monetary value to the award)
This artwork will be negotiated and determined with the selected artist
The artwork joins our collection and is considered for future exhibition opportunities
MW will cover shipping costs and details will be discussed with the selected artist
The selected artist is interviewed about their work and practice with an archived profile on our website
The selected artist is featured on our social media platforms
The selected artist is welcome to join and represent MW as a jury for future opportunities

Shortlisted:
(5) shortlisted artists will be selected based on the merit of their submitted portfolio
Each shortlisted artist will be interviewed about their work and practice with an archived profile on our website
Each shortlisted artist will be featured on our social media platforms
Each shortlisted artist is welcome to join and represent MW in future opportunities
