The MAC
Connecting dots. We understand that the arts world is small; that we are all interconnected and share similar passions to advance the field together. We realize that convening, networking, and learning together create opportunities to brainstorm and spark ideas and create artistic fire! This is the purpose behind the McMillen Artist Community (MAC). The MAC is a cohort of artists that the Foundation has supported through its scholarship program. To date, we’ve invested over $1.2 Million dollars and have helped 31 artists directly. We look forward to the Fellows that will be joining our growing cohort.

Program Overview
The McMillen Artist Community (MAC) Fellowship Program is designed to award competitive grants to support Artistic Excellence in the Visual Arts for artist in Washington State. The program recognizes the work of emerging and mid-career visual artists and provides an opportunity for these artists to pursue new work and achieve specific and creative career goals. This Artist Fellowship Program is NOT a project grant program. This program recognizes Artistic Excellence for 10-12 visual artists in three tiers – awards of either $10,000 or $5,000, and honorable mention for exceptionally talented Emerging Artist Fellows who are early in their development of their artistic career but were not selected for a financial award. Aside from the financial award, recognition and professional development opportunities are also part of the award.
