INTRODUCTION
The City of Salem is seeking qualifications and proposals (if selected) from artists or artist-led teams to develop artwork for the Salem Civic Center Improvements Project. The selection process includes two separate parts:
• Phase 1 – Submission of Qualifications (Due by March 24, 2026, at 4:00 PM, local time)
• Phase 2 (if selected) – Art Proposal with Interview. (Anticipated April 7, 2026)
This is an opportunity to provide either two-dimensional or three-dimensional artwork. An exterior covered atrium has been identified with two potential locations for the artwork.
CIVIC CENTER IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT
The project includes a seismic retrofit, system improvements, and accessibility upgrades to provide a resilient, safe, and secure Civic Center for future generations.
