About Third Rail
Founded in 2003, Third Rail’s mission is to provide a dynamic artistic home for theatre audiences in Portland by fostering a professional local company, which, through collaboration and discipline, brings to life exceptional stories that provoke dialogue, encourage empathy, and inspire curiosity.

The Role of a Board Member

Board members are vital partners in sustaining and advancing our mission. As a board member, you will:

• Serve as an ambassador for Third Rail in the community.
• Provide strategic guidance and oversight.
• Support fundraising efforts through networking and personal contributions.
• Attend monthly board meetings and Third Rail events.
• Contribute your skills, experience, and passion to strengthen the organization.

Who We’re Looking For

We welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds who are committed to the power of live theatre. We are especially interested in candidates with experience in:

• Equity, diversity, and inclusion work
• Nonprofit leadership or governance
• Fundraising and development
• Finance, law, or business management
