Announcing the COVID-19 Artist Trust Relief Fund

The COVID-19 Artist Trust Relief Fund provides rapid response grants supporting critical needs of artists whose livelihoods have been impacted by COVID-19.

With events, performances, and conferences across the country canceled, the hospitality industry closure, growing travel restrictions, significant health threats, cross-sector lay-offs, and social distancing recommendations, Washington State artists are facing severe career disruption and loss. These unrestricted cash grants are intended to support working artists with:

• Lost wages and earnings;
• Loss from event, performance, and conference cancellations and school / community-based education closures;
• Medical expenses;
• Rent and mortgage payments, food, utilities, and other living expenses.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and selected weekly. Grants range from $500-$5,000 based on artists’ needs. Learn more about the Relief Fund and apply.  To create this critical program, Artist Trust is building a coalition of people, organizations, and corporations who will join in supporting artists now. This effort was seeded with funding from the Artist Trust Board of Trustees, the Seattle Office of Arts and Culture, Chris and Alida Latham, Alison and Glen Milliman, Dale and Leslie Chihuly, Raj and Jill Singh, Helen Gamble, The Roberts Family Foundation, The Lillian Miller Foundation, Shari and John Behnke, Phyllis Hatfield, Cathy Sarkowsky, Mary Pigott, Paula Stokes and John Sullivan, Nicole Stellner and Peter Eberhardy, Lauren Goldman Marshall, Subhadra Terhanian, and many more who came together to create the initial $250,000 available for Washington State artists in need.
