About

Aidan Lancaster is a visual artist who examines and analyzes queerness within the context of contemporary U.S. society through photography. Their work centers around gender expression and the pressure to conform to societal expectations. Lancaster utilizes both public and private spaces to highlight vulnerable moments of intimacy, anxiety, hopes, and fears. Lancaster earned their BA in Studio Arts at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington and received their MFA in photography From Central Washington University in Ellensburg, Washington. Lancaster currently lives and works in Washington state.  

Lancaster’s work has been shown nationally at the McNamara Gallery in Nevada, The Image Flow Gallery in California, Gallery 263 in Massachusetts, the Rhode Island Center of Photography, Thems gallery in Arizona, and the Columbia City Art Gallery in Washington State. They were awarded the 2SLGBTQIA+ Award at the Kittitas County Open Show, and Lancaster was recognized as a 2025 Lensculture Critic’s Choice finalist.
