About
Alana O’Farrell Rogers is a Seattle-born dance artist; choreographer, teacher, and performer. She creates under her project-based company, Alana O. Rogers Dance Company. Her works seek to submerge their audience, through emotional landscapes, narrative and abstraction. Since 2008, Alana has choreographed 17 dance works and one film, and has independently produced four evenings of dance. She has been called a “world-builder,” audaciously dedicated to theatricality and the role of performance in art.
Known for its crisp athleticism and poignant sensibility, her choreography has been presented by many festivals and programs in the Pacific Northwest, including the Seattle International Dance Festival (SIDF), Walk Don’t Run (in collaboration with Alaina Stocker and Esther Loopstra), Slip Gallery/Belltown Art Walk, Velocity Dance Center, ChopShop Bodies of Work, On the Boards, and the BOOST Dance Festival, among others.
Awards and grants include the James Ray Residency through the Raynier Foundation/SIDF (2020), a 4Culture Projects grant (2025), an Artist Trust GAP grant (2016), and two smART Ventures grants from the Seattle Office of Arts & Culture (2014, 2022). She will be in residence at Base Camp Studios 2 in October-December, 2026, where she will premier her newest work Fractured, and act as performance curator for SENSORIUM, an immersive visual arts installation.
Outside of her creative endeavors, Alana is a physical therapist specializing in dance medicine, which has allowed her to fuse her passions of movement and science.
