About
As a professional performer and designer, Angela Kiser has spent over a decade devoting her time to constructing unique approaches to storytelling and performance. She strives to use universal imagery in her work to make the grotesque beautiful and beautiful grotesque. Since developing her own work, she has been compelled to blend the different disciplines and specialties of dance and theatre in the creative process.
A native to the Pacific Northwest, she graduated with a BFA in dance performance/choreography from Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA in 2010. She immediately began studying Margolis Method, a physical approach to theatre creation, in New York for an additional six years.
Angela received 2016 GAP funding to help fund an evening-length physical theatre production, residing in the world of comedy. Using aspects of dance, theatre and clown, Angela is developing a one-woman show on herself that surrounds themes of control, existentialism, and our multitasking society. Angela’s performance work combines dance, theatre, and multi-media in order to create a universal, immersive, and visceral experience for the audience: work that is accessible to any person no matter what ethnicity, language or cultural background they come from.
