About

Anna Mia Davidson works as a freelance photographer and shoots for national and international publications as well as special commissions and public arts projects. She is a Blue Earth Alliance and FotoDocument sponsored photographer. She has received grants and commissions from the City Of Seattle Office of Arts and Cultural Affairs. Anna currently has 40 images hanging in a London train station as part of a London commissioned public arts project. Her photographs have been exhibited both in the United States and Cuba, at The Farmani Gallery, Los Angeles, Leica Gallery, New York, Benham Gallery, Seattle, Fototecca Gallery, Havana Cuba, Lehigh University, Pennsylvania, and Zoelner Art Center’s permanent collection. Anna was selected as one of 11 photographers to shoot for Aperture and USA television network’s Character Of America Project where she gained international recognition for her Stewards Of The Land project and was interviewed on the Today Show. Davidson is also one of nine internationally selected photographers to shoot for London’s “FotoDocument” project. Her work can be seen in several book publications including: American Character: A Photographic Journey; Fields That Dream: A Journey To The Roots Of Our Food; and the cover of Local Vegetarian Cooking. Anna lives in Seattle with her husband and two young children.

Anna received a 2012 GAP for a body of work centered around portrait documentation of the resurgence of sustainable farmers in the Pacific Northwest. The Stewards of the Land project is composed of hundreds of images that need to be digitally archived with a cataloging system. GAP funding will cover the time of an assistant to convert the collection to a digital format, and this will then serve as a professional archive.
