Carol Light

Carol Light’s poems have appeared in Prairie Schooner, Poetry Northwest and Mare Nostrum. She earned her MFA from the University of Washington and teaches middle school on the Olympic Peninsula.

While on leave from teaching this year, Carol has worked diligently to complete and assemble a manuscript of poems, Heaven from Steam. Becuase she was awarded GAP funding, she will seek only part-time employment rather than return to teaching full-time next year. GAP funding will permit her to continue to write more than teach, and offset costs associated with publishing.
