Learn About GAP
Chelsea Bolan received a 2011 GAP award to offset her costs of living so she could take time off of her income-generating job, and write. She was able to dedicated a solid stretch of time to her stories, instead of cobbling together short periods of writing time. Part of the grant also went to mailing costs and printing supplies, so she could continue to submit her stories for publication. The GAP grant helped Bolan carry one or two short stories from the idea stage to completion, and provided recognition and encouragement.
In 2013 her short story, “Vodník,” was published in the summer edition of the Kenyon Review.
