Chris Tyllia

Chris Tyllia received 2010 GAP Award funding to offset the cost of creating and displaying new work. Chris uses ceramic materials to form rocks in a kiln and further manipulates them by using traditional lapidary techniques to make them look like the rocks and stones one might find in nature. This often results in the creation of small rock or stone-like sculptures, whose appearance leaves the viewer questioning whether or not they are looking at created or found objects.
