About
Seattle-based artist and illustrator Coco Spadoni works with ceramics, painting, and digital media. Spadoni’s work has been exhibited at Pottery Northwest, Saltstone Ceramics, the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft, Gallery One, and the Columbia Sky View Observatory. Spadoni’s involvement in the arts extends beyond exhibitions, as they have also contributed to public art projects, collaborating with the Downtown Seattle Association and participating in the Shunpike Storefronts program, which transforms vacant storefronts into temporary art spaces throughout Seattle.
Spadoni’s art draws inspiration from rituals, dreamlike states, biomorphic forms, and queer theory. They create portals to other realms where life’s messy, awkward, and everyday aspects come together in playful and transformative ways. These imagined landscapes, and the abstract creatures that live within them, offer a space for reflecting on emotions, curiosity, and intimate experiences. Although the works are typically personal, Spadoni encourages viewers to engage, interpret, and find their own meanings in the art.
