Dave Hanagan

Dave Hanagan is a filmmaker living in Seattle. He studied graphic design at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign before moving to Seattle, where he has been working as an internationally recognized media producer for the past six years. In 1999, Dave produced independent coverage of Seattle’s WTO protests that was syndicated with an ABC news program. In 2000, he produced a documentary of the Slam Poetry movement for the Seattle PBS station, KCTS, and worked as cinematographer for Borrowing Time (Webster Crowell, director). In 2001, with collaborator and abstract painter Donnabelle Casis, he co-created reverb, a video installation for the University of Washington’s Henry Art Gallery and 911 Media Arts Center. With a King County Arts Commission Special Projects Award, Hanagan directed the short film Jack Strange, Literary Hero. Currently, Dave works as the Studio Director for Northwest Film Forum, Washington State’s largest filmmakers’ collective, and continues to create short films, including his most recent Circadia Sees the Moon.
