About

Edie Whitsett (Seattle) is a set designer, painter, and sculptor whose recent installation, Peephole Theater, at the downtown Seattle Public Library, was commissioned by the City of Seattle’s Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs. Her multi-faceted work includes her role as chief scenic artist at Pacific Northwest Ballet, as well as design work for Seattle Opera and Intiman Theater. Whitsett received widespread acclaim for her set design of Charlotte’s Web at the Seattle Children’s Theatre in 2002. Recent exhibition/performance projects also include Julius Caesar commissioned by Green Hill Youth Detention Center, and Flights of Fantasy with the King County Youth Detention Facility (produced in conjunction with The Children’s Museum).
