About
Eduardo Calderón was born in Arequipa, Peru in 1949. He went to primary and secondary schools in Peru and later attended the University of Washington in Seattle where he studied anthropology and museology. He has been a photographer and an artist since the 1970’s and has exhibited his work frequently in the US and abroad. He is represented by Francine Seders Gallery in Seattle.
Eduardo received 2013 GAP Award funding to help with the costs of preparing photographs for exhibition at the Francine Seders Gallery and the Seattle Art Museum. The preparation will involve editing, printing, matting, and framing of photographs from his trip to Lima and Arequipa, Peru during Holy Week.
Eduardo received 2006 GAP Award funding for a two-week residency in Cartagena de las Indias, Colombia. The photos from his residency were part an exhibit at Catherine Person Gallery in Seattle.
Eduardo also received GAPs in 1989, 1996, 1998 and 2001, as well as a 1998 Fellowship.
