Ellaina Lewis

My name is Ellaina Lewis and I work as a classical singer. I have studied since the age of 17 in Virginia, Iowa, and finally in Washington state. I am a regular chorister at Seattle Opera, where I have also performed roles like Girlfriend II in Blue, and Strawberry Woman in Porgy and Bess. I have performed as a soloist with Tacoma Opera, Seattle Choral Company, Everett Symphony, and Harmonia Orchestra and Chorus. I have sung roles such as Violetta in Verdi’s La Traviata, Amina in Bellini’s La Sonnambula, Monica in Menotti’s The Medium, and Treemonisha in Scott Joplin’s Treemonisha. Concert engagements include classical repertoire ranging from Haydn’s Creation to Villa Lobos’ Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5. Among my premiere performances are the title role in Sally Hemings, an opera by Garrett Fisher, Huntley Beyer’s World out of Balance, and Simona in Night Flight, an operatic adaptation of the Saint-Exupery novel.
