About

Emily Beyer received 2008 GAP Award funding so she may pay the cost of living for a month while finishing her first book of poetry entitled Sightseeing. Sightseeing is a book of poems connected by shorter poems. Together the poems form a line of sight that explores the limits of interactions and intimacy between people as well as the ways imagination can be shaped through these interactions. The longer poems in the book are usually accentual verse and accompanied by a four-line companion poem in Sapphic style. In 2008 Emily was awarded a Seattle Mayor’s Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs’ CityArtist Project.
