About

Emily Curtiss graduated from the University of Montana in May 2016 with a BFA in choreography and performance. She performed with Headwaters Dance Company while in Montana and finished her time at the University by producing her own evening-length work of performance improvisation. Since moving to Seattle, Emily has performed with SeaBus Dance Company and JKLM Studios, shown choreography as a part of the I C O N I C Art Exhibit, and participated in the Bridge Project, Converge Dance Festival, Seattle International Dance Festival, and Full Tilt Dance Festival. She has a passion for teaching dance and enjoys leading OULA dance fitness classes and Creative Movement for children.

Emily received 2018 GAP Award funding for the production of her own evening-length dance performance. She has been working with six dancers around the theme of “decision fatigue,” and plans to investigate ideas regarding gaining and losing control, and invite the audience to reflect on their own decision-making willpower.
