About

J. Henry was born of a lineage of outcasts who found empowerment in their difference to overcome adversity. He is an alternative Hip-Hop artist and multi-disciplinary creative from Seattle, WA. His music invites listeners to recognize their worth through immersive storytelling rooted in authentic human experiences, drawing from his identity as a multi-ethnic queer artist.

Named Seattle Refined’s “Artist of the Week” in September 2024 after the release of his debut album, “Love J. Henry”, he is becoming a powerful voice in the Seattle music scene. Renowned for his dynamic stage presence, J. Henry delivers high-energy performances that resonate deeply with audiences. In the summer of 2025, he supported touring acts as well as crafted ”**Assembly”**, an event celebrating queer music in the Seattle area. The event sold out the Vermillion and raised over $2,000 for the Trevor Project.

Beyond performance, community, mentorship, and education are central to his work. In early 2025, he founded **Seattle’s Best Brunch**, an interview series focused on celebrating and elevating Washington’s music scene. He has been invited to share his perspective as an artist and creative at SXSW Austin and Seattle Creates, as well as on podcasts including *Maverick Mind*, *FriendsIRL*, *Queer Changemakers*, and *Music Industry Insights Worldwide*. Despite a packed calendar, he prioritizes mentoring youth and serving on the board of local organizations such as **Shunpike**, providing fiscal sponsorship and showcase opportunities for Pacific Northwest artists.
