About
Jacob Foran is an emerging artist based in Seattle. He first moved to the Pacific Northwest to attend the graduate program in ceramics at University of Washington. Jacob received his MFA in 2010 and teaches classes at UW, Seward Park Clay Studio, and is currently a faculty member in the Visual Arts Department at Lakeside Upper School. He is represented in the Northwest by Abmeyer + Wood Fine Art.
In 2011, he received a GAP to present a solo exhibition of new ceramic sculptures at Gallery4Culture in Seattle. His show concept meshes the traditional art gallery with idiosyncratic allusions to an undersea naval museum. Jacob used GAP funding to pay for studio space rental for the six months needed to complete his project.
