About

Jay Stoneking is an artist and graphic novelist based in Seattle, WA. Drawing from his complicated relationship living in-between cultures and genders, Stoneking reimagines his queer experiences through art. His works use mythmaking and the occult to explore intersectional identities and divinities, drawing inspiration from fantasy and science fiction alongside rituals, symbols, and forms from modern witchcraft. Stoneking’s creative practice includes traditional and digital painting, design and illustration, and storytelling through written works. His paintings have been shown at galleries throughout Seattle, including the Center on Contemporary Arts, The Vestibule, and Phase/55 Gallery among others, and his artwork can be found in private collections across the United States and Canada. Recent awards include the Gallery 110 Emerging Artist Scholarship (2024), a Seattle Restored Interactive Studio Residency (2023), and three public art installations through Shunpike (2022, 2023, 2025). His experimental graphic novel series, The Unbound Arcana, began in 2020.
