Jeff Bender

Jeff Bender’s work has appeared in McSweeney’s Internet Tendency, Okey-Panky, Electric Literature, The Iowa Review, Guernica, The Awl, and Seattle’s City Arts. He’s won awards from Artist Trust and Richard Hugo House and is an alum of Columbia University’s School of the Arts and Davidson College. Jeff teaches at Skagit Valley College and Richard Hugo House and is on the Roster of Teaching Artists for Washington state. He’s been a resident at the Jentel Artist Residency Program (Banner, WY.), the Edward F. Albee Foundation (Montauk, N.Y.), the Norman Mailer Writers Colony (Provincetown, MA.), and Seattle Arts & Lectures.

He lives in Bellingham, WA with his wife and 2 kids.

Jeff received a 2012 GAP to complete two new short stories. Funding helped continue a writing schedule through the summer months and assisted in his summer plans to publish two short stories toward magazine publication.
