About

Jiemei Lin, originally from Hangzhou, China, lives in Pullman, WA. As an artist and a professor, she channels her storytelling into public murals, children’s book illustrations, and gallery exhibits. Her work gives a voice to the stories of immigrants and Asian Americans, focusing on the experiences of women and children from East and Southeast Asia. Lin’s upcoming books are Good night, Zodiac Animals with Candlewick Press and The Rock in my Throat with Lerner Publishing group, both scheduled for release in 2024. Her murals across Washington state stand as testaments to her commitment to cultural enrichment and social justice. Beyond her teaching and art practice, Lin collaborates frequently with creative and social justice non-profit organizations across Washington state, including APIC Spokane and Group Health Foundation. She is a co-founder of Pullman Arts Foundation.
