John deRoulet

John deRoulet received his B.A. from Gonzaga University, in 2011. John learned traditional painting and drawing techniques under artist and friend, Robert Gilmore, and he continues to paint from his home in Spokane.

John received 2015 GAP funding to cover studio fees for his “Sprague Diaries” portrait project. This series of portraits will capture the lively group of residents who live in the East Sprague neighborhood of Spokane. John will rent a motel which he will use as a studio during this project and will pay residents to sit for portraits while recording the stories of his subjects.
