About

Junko Yamamoto recieved a BFA from Cornish College of the Arts with honors and worked with a theatrical orchestra band called the “Degenerate Art Ensemble.” She was part of a collaborative exhibition in Osaka, Japan with an absorbing-rock-ambient band called “Soft” from Kyoto and was in a solo exhibition of a music show and video installation at Frank Lloyd Wright’s Westcott Foundation in Springfield Ohio.

Junko received 2015 GAP funding for the printing of her images onto large-scale fabric and to support her as she moves into different kinds of installation and mixed media work in the future. The funding will provide the ability to make three different separate pieces, each 8’ x 8’ square with test prints. This opportunity will help keep Junko exploring and experimenting with mediums.
