Katie Freeze

Katie Freeze received 2009 GAP Award funding for rental of studio space with studio engineer and musician fees. She is creating the orchestral score for the short film titled Beauregard, which follows a few minutes in the life of a young Japanese actress who attempts and fails to secure a role in a play set during the American Civil War. In keeping with the nouvelle vague style of the film, the score will be heavily jazz-influenced in the manner of 1960’s French cinema soundtracks. This film will mark Katie’s third Seattle-based film collaboration.
