About

Kendra Phillips holds a B.F.A. in acting/directing, and B.M.A. from Pacific Lutheran University. Her focus is creating refreshing new styles of musicals that draw on the classical and avant-garde genres, as well as merging avant-garde music with theatre in non-traditional ways.

Kendra received 2015 GAP funding to assist with the Northwest Playwrights Alliance reading for her new musical “Family Game Night” about a family healing after the devastating rape of the schizophrenic daughter by a family member. It raises questions about how we personally, and as a society, view mental illness, sexual assault, and second chances, with the aim of opening a door for honest dialogue on these issues.
