Lanny Bergner

Lanny Bergner received 2009 GAP Award funding to offset a portion of the cost to attend Vermont Studio Center’s residency program where he will focus his studies on drawing, an activity he has neglected over the years due mainly to the labor-intensive nature of his sculpture work. He is also intent on devoting some of the residency time to organizing a lecture on Gardening and Art, joining his two passions in pictorial references to his artwork through the lens of gardening activity. Lanny has been a professional artist since receiving his MFA in sculpture in 1983.

Lanny also received a 1997 Fellowship and 2000 GAP Award from Artist Trust.
