About

Lauren Greathouse attended Washington State University as an undergraduate, where she received both a BA in English and a BFA in Photography in 2005. She then attended Louisiana State University, earning her MFA in 2007. After graduating, she worked as a still photographer for two years in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and the outlaying area. Since, she has spent three semesters teaching for University of Georgia’s Study abroad program in Cortona, Italy. Now, having returned to the Northwest, she has taught at Everett Community College and continues to make and show her work in various galleries around the Northwest.

Lauren received a 2012 GAP to establish a body of work that will celebrate the aesthetic value of Washington State’s state parks and draw attention to the affect of mankind on natural landscapes. GAP funding will help pay for the costs of materials to complete the project. This includes Photoshop Suite to edit the images, photo paper and ink, stipends and travel expenses. It is Lauren’s goal to also publish the book on a wider scale through a local publisher.
