About

Maia Erickson is an artist and farmer from Olympia, WA. She has worked with ceramics since 2015, developing her practice through community programs, regional firings, and local and national workshops including at Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts in Tennessee and Penland School of Craft in North Carolina. Her current work focuses on wood-fired ceramics. The daughter of an artist and environmentalist, Maia has always been drawn to the natural collaboration between creativity and the living environment.

Maia is a 2025 Artist in Residence at Arbutus Folk School in downtown Olympia. She exhibits work locally and nationally including most recently in group shows at Krikorian Gallery in Worcester, MA, Ology Gallery in Thunderbolt, GA, and KOBO Gallery in Seattle, WA.

Outside the studio Maia lives and farms in the lively company of three adults, two dogs, goats and sheep, a horse, and plenty of chickens. She is honored to be a recipient of the 2025 Artist Trust GAP award.
