About

Mariah Boyle grew up and went to school in eastern Oregon. In 2009 she received her BA from Eastern Oregon University and her MFA from Washington State University in 2012. Mariah currently splits her time between eastern Washington and Oregon, where she finds inspiration for her work in the vast amounts of space and natural forms found there. She recently finished an artist residency at Centrum in Port Townsend, WA and will be visiting the Sitka Center for Art and Ecology in Otis, OR this coming spring.

Mariah received 2014 GAP funding to create a set of shipping boxes to protect her life-sized, mixed-media/charcoal drawings/installations on paper. Her works are very fragile, delicate and easily damaged due to the materials used to create them. With a set of adequately designed shipping boxes, Mariah is able to expand the area in which she can exhibit work.
