About
Marissa Rae Niederhauser received 2010 GAP Award funding to pay for costuming, props, installation and building materials, a cinematographer’s fee, rental of video equipment, and help with construction for a series of four performance pieces that will be filmed and projected as part of an installation. Titled Some Things Bear Repeating, each performance will be filmed and projected in the subsequent installation, producing a cumulative effect while each piece remains on view throughout. Marissa will explore various topics, including social networking; acquaintance rape; domestic violence and manipulation; morality tales; harmful social conventions; and the idea that we can’t truly own our personal stories, because we are in many ways a product of the world around us.
