About

Mark Nassutti (Vashon) is writing a novel about two Italian brothers in their 50s, long estranged by family tragedy and politics, who find themselves caught in a wave of revenge killings as World War II draws to a close.  Umberto is marked for death. His brother Amedeo may be in a position to save him. Can he, or will he, knowing that even the attempt could cost him his own life? To complete the novel, based on a true story and set against historical events, Nassutti needs to do on-location and archival research in Trieste, Italy, where most of the action takes place. 2011 GAP funding will help him complete this research.
