About

Matt Offenbacher seeks constructive, positive positions at often difficult intersections of individuals, communities and institutions. His work has been called “freakishly egoless”, vulnerable, funny and queer. Matt publishes the ‘zine La Norda Specialo and the online art journal New Archives (new-archives.org). He grew up in Portland, Oregon and currently lives in Seattle.

Matt received 2010 GAP Award funding to purchase equipment and supplies for his project La Norda Specialo. Matthew is a visual artist and the publisher and editor of a zine which disseminates writing by artists, focusing on the unique characteristics of art produced in our region. He incorporates his own drawings and writings into La Norda Specialo. In 2013, Offenbacher was a recipient of the Neddy at Cornish Awards and was featured in CityArts Magazine.
