Meron Hadero received a 2011 GAP to continue work on her first novel, Abyssinia. She will apply the funding towards securing a studio space in which to work for a period of a few months, and paying for fees that arise from this (transportation) and also materials for her work. Abyssinia is a novel set in modern Ethiopia with a cast of characters that lead deeply intertwined lives.
