About
Neal Bashor received a 2005 GAP to help with research and consulting costs in the designing of a dam designed for swimming pools. Bashor’s work has recently dealt primarily with models based on pre-existing dams built along the Columbia River. Bashor has taken these models and applied them to the damming of everyday objects, such as a wine glass or bathtub. With GAP funding, the artist is now looking to create a large-scale dam installation. His pool-damming project will be the first such large-scale project and funds will go toward covering the engineering costs. This GAP award was directly funded by Artspace Seattle.
