Nicki Sucec

Nicki Sucec received 2010 GAP Award funding for time and materials to work on her upcoming exhibition titled Ascension. Nicki’s work touches upon issues such as social stigmatization, economic exclusion, and environmental destruction. She wants to delve deeper and to explore ways that humans attempt to transcend their circumstances, sometime successfully, sometimes not. The central sculpture for her upcoming exhibition will be comprised primarily of two decommissioned helicopter blades.

She is the recipient of a 2012 CityArtist Project award from Seattle’s Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs.
