About

Paige Pettibon is a multidisciplinary artist based in Tacoma, Washington. Her work reflects her Black, White, and Salish (Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes) heritage, drawing from this rich cultural background to explore themes of identity, culture, and community.

Beginning her creative journey as a painter, Pettibon has since expanded her practice to include sewing, creative writing, digital art, and jewelry making. Known for her distinctive figurative style, she blends tradition and experimentation to foster dialogue through visual storytelling. Her art builds cultural bridges and invites connection, often rooted in Indigenous knowledge, lived experience, and explorations of self.

Pettibon’s work has been exhibited in both regional and national venues, including the Tacoma Art Museum, the Smithsonian Institution, Stonington Gallery, the University of North Carolina, University of Washington, University of Puget Sound, North Seattle College, Surrey Art Centre, and Kraken Iceplex, as well as numerous galleries throughout the Puget Sound region.

In addition to her studio practice, Pettibon has a jewelry line, Plain to Sea, which features handmade designs rooted in Native aesthetics. Her pieces are collected nationwide and reflect her attention to detail, materials, and cultural meaning. Through a multidisciplinary and evolving approach, Pettibon uses her art to build community, uplift Indigenous stories, and promote allyship across cultures.
