renegadedumpling

A member of the Native Hawaiian diaspora, Nikola, also known as renegadedumpling or Ren, was born and raised in Hawai’i before having to relocate to Washington with their partner. They are a multi-ethnic, queer, trans non-binary, neurodivergent, disabled writer and performer with a deep love of narrative-driven tabletop role-playing games (TTRPGs).

Their background in English Literature, with a minor in Writing, lends to their rich storytelling and lore building, with undercurrents of real-world symbolism and deep philosophical questions to play through. The highly interactive and collaborative medium they have chosen for their art is a reflection of their desire to interact with and engage their community, to tell many stories by many voices.

Through TTRPGs and storytelling, they explore and connect with the various aspects of their identity, as well as the intersections of those identities as a deeply rewarding way to combat the effects that white supremacy and feelings of alienation from their various ethnic backgrounds have had on their upbringing.

They live with their partner, and enjoy exploring and shopping at small businesses, looking at pictures of cats, and enjoying the cool and haunting Pacific Northwest weather.
