Rimus Nena

Rimus Marston Nena is a Kosraean cultural bearer and the CEO of INFOUTAC Traditional Canoe Building Program in Ocean Shores, Washington. He is apprenticing under Master Artist Larry Alik — the last traditional Kosraean outrigger canoe builder in Washington State — to learn carving, lashing, and navigation knowledge passed down through generations. Rimus’s work focuses on preserving this endangered heritage for the Pacific Islander diaspora and bringing traditional canoe racing back to the community. He is committed to becoming a future instructor so the tradition continues long after his apprenticeship ends.
