About
Dr. Robert L. Bartlett is an Eastern Washington University local professor, sociologist, and researcher. On a personal level he is an African-American with a long-standing history of military service in his family, and is himself an ex-Army Vietnam War combat veteran. This will be Robert’s first filmmaking experience, but he previously developed a live presentation on this subject, which he shared around the state of Washington for two years as an official speaker for Humanities Washington and continues to share in the Northwest.
Robert received 2018 GAP Award funding for Jumping Into the Fire. He will travel to various historic sights significant to the story of the 555th Parachute Infantry Battalion. While there he will continue his research, conduct interviews, and gather audio/visual materials necessary to the completion of a documentary film on the subject.
